CANADIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP AND ITALIAN AESTHETICS AT THEIR FINEST
With the holiday season right around the corner, everyone is busy decorating their homes and custom kitchens. But before you hang your wreathes and mistletoe, make sure your house is spotless, especially the kitchen. Any kitchen can become the life of the party with some meticulous cleaning and chic decor. To help you with the former, Nima Kitchens, a contemporary kitchen and bath manufacturer in Toronto, lays out some excellent tips for deep cleaning your kitchen.
Since cleaning cabinets can be extensive, tackle them first. Remove all your precious wares from the cabinet and give it a deep clean with a handheld vacuum. Double down on the cleaning with some warm soapy water and wipe it all down with a microfiber cloth. Once done, repeat the process for all your cutlery.
The tough stains in an oven are a major challenge. Instead of painstakingly scrubbing them clean, simply use baking soda for a quick, hassle-free experience. Take half a cup of baking soda, add some water to it and make a consistent paste. Apply this paste to the insides of the oven, focusing on the tough stains and leave them to rest overnight. Lastly, wipe them clean with a wet cloth. If the stains still persist, simply spray some white vinegar atop the baking soda and the stains will come off for good.
Apart from ovens, microwaves also pose a cleaning challenge. But a simple hack using lemon juice can remove tough stains in no time. Squeeze some lemon juice in a microwave-safe bowl and add some water. Place the bowl inside the microwave and run it on high for a couple of minutes. The steam combined with lemon will handle any persistent stains.
White vinegar is an excellent choice for cleaning your dishwasher. Take some white vinegar in a dishwasher-safe bowl and place it in the top rack of your dishwasher to run a cycle. If your dishwasher needs an extra deep clean, add some baking soda to the bottom rack and run another short cycle for good measure.
Deep cleaning a refrigerator can seem daunting, but with this step-by-step process, it is fairly simple. First, defrost the refrigerator. Place all the contents into water-safe bags so nothing is spoiled. Once the defrosting is finished, scrape off excess ice in your freezer with a spatula. Next, prepare a mixture of two tablespoons of baking soda in a litre of warm water and clean the insides with this concoction. Although a bit extensive, this method ensures the best results with the least amount of effort.
Sinks are generally clean, but some grime buildup is unavoidable. While soap, vinegar, or lemon juice with warm water will do the trick, it's important to consider the material of the sink first. For stainless steel or copper sinks, use lemon and vinegar minimally and reserve it for special occasions, like the holiday season.
If stainless steel is prevalent in your custom kitchen, you must have noticed some tarnishing or marks. Remove these unsightly problems by dabbing a cloth with some olive oil and giving them a good wipe. Lastly, buff the stainless steel surface with a dry cloth to leave them spotless and shining. Repeat the process for all steel surfaces including utensils and appliances.
